Meet Amanda
Since a young age, I have struggled with panic attacks, anxiety and night terrors. For years, I did not have the language to explain or understand what I was experiencing. It wasn't until my early 20s, pregnant with my first child, did my doctor tell me I was experiencing panic attacks! The freedom I experienced in simply understanding what was going on with me led to taking active steps to prevent the panic attack, anxiety, and night terrors. This was my introduction into mental health, and as the years went by, more exposure occurred, from marital distress to post-partum depression to addressing childhood traumas. Through my own mental health journey, learning who I am was vital to my healing.
As a resident of Bailey, I am deeply invested in our mountain community. Understanding the unique needs of our mountain life is important to understanding your mental health needs. Working from a person-centered approach, I place you as the expert on your life. I step into your worldview to experience life as you do. Through this process you are able to gain new perspectives and elicit authentic change and growth. You have the opportunity to learn who you are. Utilizing a variety of techniques, we'll collaboratively work together on the goals you hope to achieve in therapy.
When I am not seeing clients, you'll find my hands covered in soil or clay, hanging out with my teen children, or paddling on the water!
