Meet Lauren

Grief impacted my life at an early age, allowing me to experience life’s milestones in a different manner. I credit this early introduction to grief and adversity to the reasons I feel so passionate about mental health and self-improvement. I love what I do for so many reasons. My job is equal parts challenging and rewarding, for me I view this work as a calling, one I am honored to answer. The truth is, my path to sitting with you has been a winding, rugged one, with plenty of peaks and valleys. I’ve held a variety of jobs over the years all assisting me in understanding the work I am well suited for has a common thread, the desire to connect with and help others.

I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. While in graduate school and through an internship with Hospice my attention was focused on helping those individuals working through grief and loss as well as current and past trauma.

Postgraduate I have obtained certifications as a Grief Counselor and am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). In addition to this I am deeply passionate about serving the first responder population and am a certified culturally competent clinician. As a spouse of retired law enforcement, I have lived some of the realities of this work and feel honored to give back to this community.

Those who know me have said I am thoughtful, caring, real and down to earth. I seek to bring a calming presence to our sessions and always welcome moments of humor and salty language! I want your time in therapy to work for you therefore I invite your feedback throughout our work together.

A love of the outdoors brought me to Colorado many years ago. When not in session I love spending time enjoying the outdoors, fishing trips with her family, hiking hunting season, live music and reading.
